So yesterday, I had the burning desire to do something, I didn't know what that something would be but I knew it had to be something special.
Then it clicked to me, why not witness one of the many naturally beautiful things that Jamaica has to offer.
Now, I felt it would be absolutely crazy to ask anyone at 10pm last night to come with me at 5am this morning to watch the sun rise, but surprisingly my parents were willing. I could've gone by myself, but I don't think it's something you witness alone.
Naturally it could seem like a chore; as thoughts like "ugh, so early" or "ugh, can we just watch the sunset instead?" will fill your mind. In fact, its actually two of the thoughts I had when my alarm went off at 5am this morning, but I got up!
Seeing as it was an impromptu trip, I had no choice but to capture it all on my smartphone so bare with me.
It was a about a 25 minute drive from Half Way Tree, since there was no traffic at this time. We pulled up at about 5:30am on the palisadoes strip and parked.
We came out and sat on some rocks, giving us front row seats, as we patiently waited for the sun to gleam through the two mountain peaks ahead of us to the East.
I closed my eyes, and let the balming breeze brush against my cheeks, amidst our chatter.
It was truly a sight to behold even before the sun rose, as the still waters of our Kingston Harbour - the 7th largest natural harbour in the world, and birds flying from every direction, would give anyone an undeniable sense of tranquility.
The sun gleamed through at 6:05am, adding a golden glisten to the water and everything else in its reach.
Its so funny how we take these little natural wonders for granted.
Can you imagine? This happens every single morning, regardless of who is there to see it.
Now that I believe, is pure magic.
I feel as if I started my morning the right way; free of technology's distractions, work calls or feelings of exhaustion. Instead, I felt rejuvenated and now I am ready for anything my Sunday could throw at me, and by extension the week ahead.
Here's a very short recap video I did myself, just for kicks!
I hope you all enjoyed the view as much as I did.
See you next time we go RightRounDiCorna with me, JadeLauren.
